"Boron Capable" is the way Genesis distinguishes cutters that excel at cutting the toughest of the “Ultra High Strength Steel” found in cars today. Boron is probably the toughest to cut UHSS example, but others exist including Martensite, Dual-Phase, etc. UHSS requires an enormous amount of compression force combined with specially engineered Blade Designs and Blade Material to cause the steel to catastrophically crack or shatter. The cutter does not actually cut the the UHSS material. UHSS steel has very similiar properties to that of glass, as it is extremely hard, but very brittle. As you watch the video you can see the concept by listening for the "crack" of the UHSS as it is cut. The enormous amount of pressure combined with balde design is where hydraulic cutters today don't measure up. All except for the line of Genesis Boron Capable cutters. Genesis Rescue Tools currently has 7 different cutters that have been tested successfully to achieve their Boron Capable status.
